Moldcell subscribers receive calls from unknown persons introducing themselves as Moldcell representatives. In order to receive the award, impostors ask subscribers to purchase a scratch card or a money card and refill a GSM account indicated by the callers.

3. Moldcell company informs the clients about the new fraud scheme that has widely spread.
The users of the popular social networks Odnoklassniki and VKontakte are the targets of the fraudsters. They create profiles similar to the profiles of the victims, contact the friends of the victim and ask to refill their new phone account using different pretexts. The phone number certainly belongs to the fraudsters. Thus, they ensure themselves free communication by phone at the expense of users of mobile phones.
Please, be vigilant, do not allow the fraudsters to mislead you.
SMS Spamming
As the possibility of Internet connection, be it WiFi, 3G or other technologies, gradually becomes a function automatically included in new mobile equipment, the danger of infecting this equipment with viruses and other malicious information codes is more evident. The effect of such attacks may be disastrous, manifesting itself in personal or confidential information being stolen, files being erased or even in affecting the normal operation of these devises.
How can you protect your phone?
- Do not copy or download any content from unreliable or suspicious sources;
- Install an antivirus program.
One of the biggest sources of SMS spam is number harvesting carried out by Internet sites offering "free" ringtone downloads. In order to facilitate the downloads, users must provide their phone numbers, which in turn are used to send frequent advertising messages to the phone.
A virus can turn out to be quite expensive. Having infected a telephone, a virus can send advertising SMS messages, a kind of spam, all at the user’s expense. Moreover, a virus may be set to call numbers with extra charge, thereby loading the user’s bill.
Another characteristic of a virus, rather pronounced at present, is expressed by automatically sending tens of thousands of short messages to non-existing numbers, which causes disorders both in the user’s mobile equipment and in the operator’s network. So far, mobile phone viruses can spread around only with users’ help. Nevertheless, it will not take long for hackers to find a way and spread their viruses without any intervention of phone holders. Without a solution, mobile users may end up losing.
